Terms and conditions for using the RutaLink bus ticketing platform

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RutaLink's services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

These terms apply to all users of the platform, including passengers booking tickets and bus operators using the platform to manage their services.

Description of Service

RutaLink provides a software platform that enables:

  • Regional bus operators to manage routes, schedules, and bookings
  • Passengers to search, book, and pay for bus tickets
  • Real-time seat management and availability tracking
  • Digital ticket delivery and QR code verification
  • SMS notifications for booking confirmations (with opt-in consent)

RutaLink is a technology platform and does not operate bus services directly. The transportation services are provided by independent bus operators.

User Accounts

When booking tickets through RutaLink, you agree to provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate contact information (name, email, phone number)
  • Ensuring the phone number provided can receive SMS messages (if opting in to notifications)
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of any booking references or access credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your bookings

Booking and Payment

By making a booking through RutaLink:

  • You agree to pay the full ticket price displayed at checkout
  • Payment is processed securely through Stripe
  • Tickets are non-transferable unless otherwise stated by the bus operator
  • Seat holds expire after 10 minutes if payment is not completed
  • Confirmed bookings will receive a digital ticket with a QR code

Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation and refund policies are set by individual bus operators. Generally:

  • Cancellation requests should be made through the platform or by contacting the bus operator directly
  • Refund eligibility depends on the operator's policy and timing of cancellation
  • Processing fees may be non-refundable
  • No-shows may not be eligible for refunds

Please review the specific operator's cancellation policy before booking.

SMS Communications

If you opt-in to receive SMS notifications:

  • You consent to receive transactional text messages about your bookings
  • Message frequency varies based on booking activity
  • Message and data rates may apply
  • You can opt-out at any time by replying STOP to any message
  • Reply HELP for assistance

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Provide false or misleading information
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to circumvent security measures
  • Resell or scalp tickets without authorization
  • Interfere with other users' access to the platform
  • Use automated systems to access the platform without permission

Limitation of Liability

RutaLink provides the platform "as is" and makes no warranties about the reliability of transportation services provided by bus operators.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RutaLink shall not be liable for:

  • Delays, cancellations, or changes to bus schedules by operators
  • Lost, stolen, or damaged luggage
  • Personal injury during transportation
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
